Dr. Beck finished his residency at the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine (SCNM) in Tempe, Arizona, in 2003. He returned to SCNM in 2015 as the director of certificate programs and received a promotion to chief medical officer in 2016.
Dr. Beck’s career has been heavily weighted in clinical medicine. He and his wife ran a highly sucessful multi-practitioner primary care practice in Washington state for a decade. Following the death of his father, Dr. Beck decided it was time to explore other opportunities in the world.
He began by writing a book, “Cultivating the Fine Art of Selfishness,” which provides tools for caregivers to help themselves, allowing them to help others more effectively.
Having always enjoyed travel, Dr. Beck and his family moved to Abu Dhabi in the Middle East where he took the position of health team leader for AlMansoori, an engineering company of 2,700 employees. In this role, he led corporate wellness and occupational health programs in 23 countries, eventually helping the company win a prestigious Daman Award for Corporate Health and Wellness (Organization).
Dr. Beck sits on the newly formed board of the Sports Medicine Association of Naturopathic Physicians. His goal at SCNM is to help advance students’ clinical education and the naturopathic profession as a whole.
