When Erlene came to the SCNM community clinic at River Source she was suffering from debilitating neuropathy in her feet, along with diabetes and high blood pressure. Neuropathy is a condition that causes pain and numbness due to nerve damage. It was making everyday life very difficult for Erlene, and she was worried that she would need to be put in a wheelchair. Acupuncture has significantly improved her symptoms and allowed her to walk her dogs and stand for long periods of time without pain. As someone on Social Security with a fixed income, the ability to receive free treatment at the community clinic is invaluable to her.
