The two most common conditions that cause pain in the elbow are lateral and medial epicondylitis, also known as tennis or golfer’s elbow respectively.  Typical symptoms are pain, burning, weak grip strength and/or numbness/tingling.  These conditions are usually caused by the repetitive motions that occur during athletic activities.

In order to get a correct diagnosis, an x-ray may be necessary as well as a physical evaluation.
