Treat the cause
Pain is one of the most common reasons that patients seek medical care. Pain can be a distraction and it can be disabling; either way, pain gets in the way of everyday life. Have you noticed that you don’t do things you love to do because pain is stopping you? Let us help.
At the SCNM Pain Relief Center (PRC), we take a different approach to pain treatment. Using the philosophy of naturopathic medicine, SCNM practitioners use a whole-body approach to find and treat the cause of your pain. Our practitioners partner with you to fully understand your experience with your pain. They get to know you and your lifestyle, diet, leisure and work activities, stress, and past injuries to fully assess your needs.
Every patient has a custom treatment plan designed by a team of clinicians, which may include naturopathic physicians, licensed acupuncturists, massage therapists, cranial sacral therapists, mind-body specialists and chiropractors.
Many patients come to see our practitioners when conventional medicine is not effective in relieving their pain. Many want to get off narcotic pain medications or avoid surgery. The treatments used at the PRC will provide relief without the dangerous side effects and long recovery times of other options. Our practitioners can help with chronic pain like headaches or sports injuries; they can also help with acute pain resulting from a car crash or work-related injury.
We’ll communicate and work with you and your other providers to ensure that you’re getting the best care possible.
What we treat
PRC practitioners commonly treat patients for the conditions and types of pain listed below. Additionally, we treat pain associated with skin rashes, ulcers, autoimmune diseases, asthma, diabetes, rib and chest pain, and much more.
We utilize natural, non-invasive methods to alleviate pain. Physical treatment approaches include acupuncture, cryotherapy, manipulation, and various injection treatments. In some cases patients may need further treatment beyond these techniques and we can provide that as well. If necessary, prescriptions can be called in to the patient’s pharmacy, and referrals to qualified specialists for surgical intervention can be given.
Stress, emotional trauma, and other psychological disorders can manifest themselves as physical pain. Mind-body techniques, including neurofeedback and counseling, can help patients through these issues and thus relieve the physical pain they may be suffering from. We also coach patients on proper nutrition, both dietary and supplemental, as well as botanical and homeopathic medicines. These lifestyle changes provide a healthy foundation for both the mind and the body to prevent pain from occurring. Movement therapies and exercise are also recommended to tone and relax muscles and create new postural patterns.
